My dad and grandpa used to use a lot of TNT building ditches for the county. Old stuff is very unstable and it is probably leaking nitro. Dad told me once a barn blew up beacuse the nitro leaked out of some old TNT into the dirt on the floor. It might be perfectly safe to burn it, but why take the chance. I had to call the bomb squad once when I found a WWII vintage gernade in a house with some old man's things. They took it without asking any questions.
