Hi! Well you know how it goes with baler problems: night is coming on, dew point is close, you heard something on the radio about rain, and to top it all off you have a commitment tomorrow. The baler is a NH 268, the problem we were having seemed to pop up suddenly. The twine on one side would get wrapped around the bill hook (if I've got the right name, the piece that grabs the string and twists), and when the bale got pushed out it would break the string. I tried adjusting the twine tension, thinking it wasn't tight enough. After I did that, the knots wouldn't hold on both sides. When I loosened it up, back to the same problem. Any ideas? Any "band-aid" solutions? Here's the rub. I won't be in the field as I have a commitment with a friend, so it would be my Mom, my Dad, and my brother working out there. None of us has yet grasped all of the names of the pieces yet so I'm embarrassed to ask, but could you also explain what that part is? Thanks everyone BTW the plate that puts pressure on the string as it comes out of the box would be twisted at an clockwise angle. Could this be part of the problemsymptom?

I’d probably plowed about 3000 acres (in my head anyway) by the time they found me. This is where my love for tractors started and has only gotten worse in my tender 50 yrs on this “green planet”. I’m par
