Like Rod said, there is a flat spot on the bell housing right behind the starter and you should have the model number on top with the serial number underneath,. I know with my 59 671 D the transmission had been changed out as it had gold paint on it and the rest of the tractor doesn't. also had another ser # stamped on the opps side of tractor and that flat which i have found that they sometimes did to show the original ser# from the original tractor. battery acid had a bad time of eating these numbers up as well as a lot of built up paint, i think i had around 4 layers of paint in places, had two types of red, one of blue and like i said the trans had gold in it too. good luck, Kent
