Gasoline too expensive!

I'm a french collector I have a Farmall H, it is a distillate version
But it's really expensive to drive with them, but in France gasoline cost 4.5 $/gallon (7F/l) I try to drive with a mixing of 1/3 fuel and 2/3 gasoline .This mixing give satisfaction when warm enough, but the cost is really high in comparison with diesel engine.(1$/gallon) It is possible to find the same distillate like as in epoch when tractor was made?
It's the actually distillate for heating the same?
And kerosene?
