A quick check with a scan tool will tell you if the glow plug relay is being commanded "ON", and if it is actually responding, and feeding current to the glow plugs. The 'puter actually monitors the GP voltage.
As for the stalling, suspect the frame-mounted electric lift pump, and the oil pressure switch that operates it.
Another thought... sometimes the fuel heater shorts and blows a fuse. Seems to me that MAY affect the operation of the glow plug relay or the fuel pump. I'm suffering from crs, but it seems to me when the fuel heater shorts, it takes another function down with it.
