Don't know a lot about the 24V, but the 12V had problems with the throttle positioning reostat. It would get dirt and crud in it and the converter would lock and unlock for no reason giving the impression the lock up was bad. I have a 12V (1996) with 253K on it. I have pulled some awful loads across the country and never had a real problem...just the reostat. But, I always kinda back off the throttle a little when the converter is about to lock up. After it locks up I run the heck out of it. No problems to date. Biggest thing is service it by the way you run. Hard use means more frequent service. I pulled over 12T across Ky and Tenn coming back to Tx this last year with it in lock up and it did not die on me. Just my 2 cents.
