Epoxy resin is very expensive and once used can never be patched with vynl resin. Epoxy is waterproof but so is vynl resin unliess you leave water in the tub for 12 month. All gel coat is made of polyestervynl resin and color and is very pourous. Use the car stuff it will work just as easy ( Also did work on some large 50- 65 foot boat bottoms with blisters so I know from whence I came.)
