Giving only one dimension leaves rather too much to the imagination. If it is slight damage to the very outside edge for a cm or more (people usually underestimate in these cases), that may not be too important. If it is the complete outside edge that is broken away, that is another case altogether. The fire ring on the gasket must be clamped correctly and there must be no risk of crack propagation. Without at least some pictures, my gut feeling is renew, but it may have a better chance of success as it is a gas engine. RAB
