The Lone Star Flight Museum in Galveston is very good. Old Town Spring On !-45 North is good if you are into antiques. Traders village on weekends is a BIG flea market on N. Eldridge. Houston Raceway Park has dirt oval on Friday nights and drag racing on Sat. and Sun(seems there is always something at the drag strip) If you are just looking to kill some time and want to see some nice country , head west on 290. In 20 minutes you are in a hole new world-the city disappears. Hope this gives you some ideas. I will be back in the are in about a month. Oh, and if you happen to be in the area the first part of December-or for that matter you may want to make a trip back-is to see Dickens on the Strand in Galveston(Google it)
