Yeah I agree with bbott. The 6' hog is more than plenty for the 240.
The parts are readily available for it, and alot of the parts it takes are available from after market sources thus lowering the cost.
As far as reliable. Yes it is probably one of the most reliable tractors ever made. Keep the Perkins serviced and maintained and it last for many many years. They have a good drive train and are balanced out good.
