If you are going to be towing and traving much then I think a diesel will be the way to go. I have a gas truck 1996 dodge ram and it has been very good to me. Lately I have been having more and more troubles when pulling the trailer finding a place you can pull in and get gas. They all seem to be placing the gas pumps so you pull in facing their building not giving the room to manuver a truck and trailer around. The diesel pumps are usually located off to the side where you have room to drive around. This factor alone is enough to warrant a diesel. The cummins in the Dodge is the tops so far. If you go gas you may want to check out the new Toyota's and see if they are rated for what you need to haul. Their older trucks were too small for me .But Dad has one and it just goes on forever trouble free !
