Dunno Hank, guess it depends on what you'll use it for.
I had an '01 7.3 Power Stroke and thought the sun rose and set with that old truck. Traded it off at 107K miles, not one lick of trouble except one starter. I beat the He!! out of 'em too and this truck never even had a rattle when it left here.
So, I go to town and trade it off on an '08 Super Duty. Drove it for three weeks and promptly parked it in the garage. Couldn't stand those $100 fuel bills every third day. Best I've ever seen on it was 17mpg. :>(
But, Oh Mama! It is a total maniac when it comes to towing the big trailers. It’ll pull the cleats right off a D8 Cat. :>)
They say the Dodge Cummins gets good mileage and I think those Chevy drivetrains are pretty tough anymore. Their Duramax tonner is a darned good lookin' rig too.
