I buy a new pickup about every 5 years or so - when my tax lady tells me to. I buy 3/4 ton 4x4. Drove Fords for years. But when they came out with the current style pickup I had to go over to Chevy. Ford tail gate is at least 3" higher than the Chevy. Height might be good if you are looking for a better view from the seat. But if you are constantly loading lumber, plywood, sheetrock, tools and equipment that extra 3" is a killer. Chevy is the lowest platform of them all.

There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
