Watched my neighbor plant the last week in October last year; about 10 days before the frost locked it up solid. Wheat only come up about an inch tall.
Wind, wheat and dirt blew all winter long then filled in all the blank spots with ragweed and sunflowers this spring. I wouldn't have given ya 6 eggs for the lot of it.
My wheat burnt clear up and he still made 45 bushel to the acre. :>(
