I bought an Allis C this spring with a 5' belly mower. I got on it and started mowin' and noticed it was just chewin' the grass off. The blades needed sharpening anyway so I did that. It still did not cut good. I got to lookin' at it and realized that the blades were turning wrong. I just changed the way the drive belt was wrapped around the main drive pulley, and Presto! It mows as good as my Wheelhorse and doesn't take near as long. However, if it stays as dry as it has been this summer, it may have to go to another home. I know now that it is hard to grow a lot of things in a desert.
