Economy here in west/central Michigan has taken an awful beating. Several major employers took up and left, or just shut down. Especially auto parts suppliers, and then there was the Electrolux - largest refrigerator manufacturer, relocated in Mexico. Folks are really hurting here. Yard sales all over, spare cars, boats, motorcycles, recreational vehicles, other such toys in yards all over with for sale signs. Seems like about every third house has a for sale sign on it, many empty of residents, begging for new owners. Yeah, we have the highest unemployment in the nation, almost twice the national average. We"re hurting! BAD!
