That same question was asked on the Farmall board some days (weeks?) ago. I didn't write it all down but, someone there (wayne?) posted an alphabetical list of years. The alpha character in your casting number is supposed to indicate the year cast, with the other two numbers being month & day. Also, you can get a pretty good approximation (+/-1) by the stamped s/n on the block above the #1 plug. The block number may or may not be the same as your tractor, but usually pretty close.
