Heard good things about both brands. In my opinion, the Vermeer equipment is usually overbuilt so it is extremely rugged; however, parts availability may be an issue. With Hesston, parts are readily available through AGCO. CaseIH is losing its joint venture with Hesston. Hesston equipment is likely not as overbuilt, but is rugged and dependable to be sure. Hesston balers do an excellent job as well. Personal opinion: I'd go with the Hesston because of easy parts and service, good reputation, and good performance.
