I think your right. I own a wholesale/retail nursery, and the wholesale buyers do the same to me. I think that i am the one that worked and risk all to put that crop in and feed and nurture it to the point of being ready to retail, and ill be da** if im gonna let them make ALL the profit. I dont want to get rich on one crop, I just want enough to live on and put in another crop so we can do it again next year. If they expect less out of me then they can go elsewhere and ive told a few just that. By the way. I do not and will not sell to the big box stores. There are enough mom and pop businesses out there to keep the farm up.
