Truck, you are right, it is a 444 model made from 1963 to 1972. I had one myself. We did overhaul the Onan Super CCK engine in ours. As for drafting another engine, one thing to keep in mind is the crankshaft size so you can use your variable speed belt pulley. We also rebuilt a 500 that had the Kohler K 662 engine. We had Bobcat special order a new conversion type belt drive pulley for it.
