As mentioned, you _really_ need live pto for a snow blower, & a slow reverse speed.
I'm here in southern MN, I run a 7 foot 2-stage blower in our (sometimes) deep drifts with a 27 hp tractor with 3 reverse speeds & live pto. Works well. HP is not the problem; no live pto, & way too fast a reverse gear is a problem - the N series does not make a blower tractor. :)
