14 years ago I gave an assignment to 40 students to calculate the time needed to move 3 ton of wood chips into a hopper using 3 laborers with D handled scoops. I gave them the amount of chips each shovel full would hold on average, and the rate the workers would be scooping. All but 3 in 40 stated that they would quit if they were given shovels with no handles!! These were Students at San Jose State University. JimN
