I got the best story yet an every word is true. Station ed at Weisbaden AFB, HQ, USAFE in 1954 and had great dental care at the Frankfurt dental clinic so I had been on a fllight that lasted a few days and started a terrible tootheache so I APC'd it till we got back because of the great care.We landed at Frankfurt about 3:30 PM and as soon as filed my flight report I hightaled it to the clinic only to find it closed except for the emergency tech who informed me I had to wait till monday. No way could I wait so they took me to a German dentist. He proceeded to tell me two wisdom teeth had to come out now. He then (this is true) strapped me down arms and chest and put a ddevice in my mouth to hold it open. I kept waiting for the novocaine abd the next thing I know he is attacking my mouth with a hammer and chisel, NO PAIN KILLER, for about the nest 30 minutes. I would have killed him if I had the strength left in my body. I think he really hated Americans. I was off flight status for 4 weeks making me miss my flight pay and was sore as all **ll. Gums. mouth, jaw, neck etc.
