The example that you gave is a little complex: the Allis Chalmers D10 had many modifications during it's production run. It's enigine started out early on as a 138ci then went to a 149ci, which changed the HP rating. It also had hitch variations: snap-coupler,3pt,and just a drawbar on the industrial version. It also had changes in the rear rims, electrical system, hydraulics,and pto just to name a few. The easiest way to understand the AC tractors is to get a copy of Norm Swinford's book on Allis Chalmers 1914-1985.
