the Unforgiven said: (quoted from post at 09:56:08 10/11/07) Wish I could post pic's, there is a lightpole out by my henhouse with a big coon sitting on top and two German Shepherds lying at the bottom. Real bad start to Mr. Coon's day!!!
I would have to agree with the lead poisoning technique. All though I like having Nature all around, those racoons have caused me enough trouble. The last one I caught in the chicken coop with one of my chickens in his lap, he got up and left through the back entrance when he saw me and was heading up the fence when I hit him with the 2 x 4, he just stopped and turned around to look at me and then he hissed so I hit him again. Over the fence he went in a lump, after making sure he was a gonner I put him a foot underground. Don't like em in my chicken house, don't mind em in the nieghbors, he deals with them the same way. Trap em and shoot em.
