I agree that a disc will do you better than a plow for a food plot. We have many dairy farmers that plant hundreds of acres of rye grass every year and not one of them ownes a plow. It is all done with a disc and harrow. For a small area you can get by without the harrow by using a piece of fence with some logs tied on top for weight.
Now as far as how good are Howse implements??? I own a Howse 6' box; middle buster; and dirt scoop. I would not consider any of them profesional tools but for the weekend worrier they are priced in my range and hold up well. All are about 4 years old now and I have had no problems using them with a 40hp tractor.
