robert, i was digging around the barn and found my chart for mixing chloride, has tire size, gallons of water, and total wt added. e mail me your tire size and i can look it up for ya. heres an example, for a 13-6-38 tire, like a farmall m, the tire holds 57 gallons of water and will weigh 475 lbs. using 2 lb mix, tire holds now 52 gallons water, 104 lbs calcium, total wt of 538. 3-1/2 lb mix, 49 gal water, 172 lbs of chloride, total weight added 581 lbs. for 5lb mix, use 46 gal water, 230 lbs calcium for a total weight added of 614 lbs. so two tires loaded with 5 lb mix will give ya bout 1200 lbs ballast. a lot less cost than hanging 6-8 200 lb wheel weights. 2 lb mix slush free at +13 degrees, freezes solid at -23, 3-1/2 lb mix, slush free at -12, solid freese at -52 deg f, 5 lb mix, slush free at -53 solid at -62 degrees brrr thats cold!!! hope that helps ya!!!
