my two cents... One the new emissions standards means you need to burn a hotter engine and that engine has to overcome the new mufflers as well(there is talk about catalytic converters for mowers!!) Two HP sells, the old timers said - I need to do this type of work, what is best to do that with. They especially were interested in the ATTACHMENTS that went with a tractor, for instance, Front loader, rear loader, post hole digger, sickle bar, rear plow, belly plow, rear blade, log splitter, rear saw, mower, front blade, snowblower, rake, tiller. New tractors have almost NO implements (tiller, snowblower for only a few) (except the non powered ones, like a front plow and a rear plow. The new tractors are basically large mowers and for those people HP sells. Becuase when they compare tractors, the only thing that can set the competition apart is HP....becuase the implements would never be used anyhow!!! Martin
