Portland, OR fuel prices up quite a bit recently. Joined Costco (membership discount big box) because fuel saving paid most of membership cost. Their prices regular 2.34 Feb 07, rose to 3.29 in May, fell to 2.56 in Aug, now up to 2.92. Majors 3.00 to 3.10, 3.15. Diesel at majors 3.50 and over; don"t know how much at truck stop; don"t drive out that far very often!! Real estate people here all telling each other how good things are; dau, who stages houses and is interior decorator/consultant, sez slow-slow-slow. Doesn"t really look all that rosy nationwide. Fires in Cal may rescue OR-WA real estate, if enough well-heeled, independently wealthy or internet-based CA refugees decide to relocate north.
