you may have set the stage for fuel delivery problems now. but it is easy to fix. we ran our 685 out of fuel, and within an hour on the meter (over a couple weeks between uses) it was starving for fuel. removed all the tank fittings and cleaned a lot of crud out of the shutoff and so forth; works perfectly now.
to bleed, fill the tank full or to a higher level than the injector pump, open the fuel shut off, open the bleeder screw on the (closest to fuel source) fuel filter until fuel flows out, then move on to the next filter or fitting. pretty much similar instructions on all diesels. if you have a lift pump, operate that manually for each bleeder open step.
