I think it depends on what you plan on doing with the tractor and what dealer support you have close at hand. I think that Kubota's are great tractors in terms of product quality... but you can't take a chassis equivelant to what Ford called a 50 hp tractor 15 years ago, slap 34" wheels on it and a 5 cylinder turbo engine in front and call it something equivelant to a 6XX0 series Deere or the new 6000 series NH platform. There's a pile of cast iron in the difference and I don't mean wheel weights. The orange thang is great for utility work where a light tractor will suffice and you just need power for PTO work or dividing that power between the PTO and drawbar.... but I'm fairly sure that if you funnel all that power through the wheels you will see problems in time, and mabey not a long time. I'm not knocking the tractor, but it has a purpose. Deere and NH both build light tractors in or near that range, and they also build heavy tractors in that range.... so there are different tractors for different needs. Consider you needs.
Support will be your next concern. It's not good to buy from a dealer 200 miles away and then need service. That's an expensive field call or an expensive float bill. Your pick. I don't think that any of them are so reliable that they don't need those calls either, but Kubota is probably better than most in that regard.
Personally I prefer to stay with the older stuff and do my own repairs. Both ways cost; this is just my preference. Don't think I could function waiting for a dealer to show up to work on a lot of the problems I have....
