Yep, Allan, i know just how you feel! Back in 1946, i bought an old Model T Ford Roadster, towed it home, made it run again. Had a lot of fun with it, then sold it to a guy who said he'd fix her up again. Several years later, whilst visiting a friends repair shop, i spied out back my old car! Inquiring about how it got there, he said the owner wanted him to make a hot rod out of it, but hadn't given him any money to start, in 2 years time, so if i wanted it--better take it home, as he couldn't find the man, and was about to junk it. So, i took it home, went all over it, repaired the body and painted it, and drove it around in parades for many years! Finally, since my sons wanted no part of it, i sold it to a man who restores Model T's. So, yes, you did what i would do! Some times you read about Grampaw's old Farmall that was sold at the farm auction, then the Grandson wants to find it and buy it back---i know just how they feel!
