We had a similar thing happen. My grandad had a 46 jd "D" that he sold to a collector back in the late 70's in northeast Colorado. Last year my cousin found the tractor pretty much like it was when he sold it, fairly decent shaped but not running. The guy gave it back to our family and I ended up with it to restore. Believe me, I hitched up the trailer and did the two thousand mile plus trip asap before he changed his mind. Now the d is in my shed waiting for parts and my h to get done!!

Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
