I've got the opposite problem. The first tractor I had (other than a very short-lived and unsatisfactory experience with an 8N Ford) was a JD 420, with 5 speed, power steering and live PTO. I found a loader to put on it, did my first "tractor split", etc. Decided in about 1976 that I needed something bigger, so sold it to my wife's boss, a dentist. I see him occasionally (she hasn't worked for him for years), always inquire after the health of "our" tractor. Couple of months ago, I got my hopes up a little- he said it was getting pretty tired, needed work, etc., and I thought that might be a prelude to him offering it back to me (he knows I buy, fix and sell tractors). Instead, he pulls out his wallet and shows me a picture- its Johnny, looking like it just came off the showroom floor! Had it completely "refurbished", wouldn't say what it cost. But if he's carrying a pic in his wallet, I gotta think the only way I'll get that tractor back is if I am still alive to buy it at his estate sale.

Now my grandfather had had this mule since the mid 40's and he was getting some age on him. S
