I haven't been making any friends here : ) But my choices would be: Oliver 550 live/independent PTO, live hydraulics, draft control, hi/lo range, came both gas and diesel, plenty of power, low clearence. Or the MF135 for the same reasons as above but probably a stronger hydraulic unit and adjustable lift rate but it is a younger tractor. In the row crop tractors my favorites are the Oliver Super 77/88's. They have been talked about in a post lower down. The diesels were easier on fuel than the gas models. Farmall SMTA, SMDTA, and the rest of the Super M line. Some of the newer JD Utility models when they decided to put multiples of two rather than just two cylinders in them. But they came so much later than the rest, you would have to admit they re-acted and did not set the trend here. In all, there are several good tractors out there. It all comes to personal likes or dislikes. I have used most of them and like alot of them but if you look at any period and then see where we are now, I have to think several of the Oliver line would have to be in the running.
