I assume that you are referring to dairy breed ( usually holstein ) bull calves. I sold large week old holstein bull calves from my 40 cow dairy this fall for $60 at the farm until buyer did not want any more. Took one to Mt. Airy, N.C. market 2 weeks ago. Only 4 calves there that day. A group of 3 sold for $100 each. Mine sold for $95. This week I took 4 that were 2 weeks old --$57.50 each. I just looked at 3 N.C. market reports for this week 1. $30-60 2. $20-47.50 3. $30 With the drought this year and shortage of hay , corn at $4/bu., milk replacer price higher than ever and the fact that holstein steers never sell as well as beef breeds, no none is going to pay much for week old bull calves.
