I bought an 80 west of Little Rock, Ar in 1978. Shortly after a fellow and his wife bought a 40 adjoing my 80. They were from Iowa and she was a big time gardener. Unfortunatly the forty they bought was all small rocks with about 2 inches of soil on top. Could not plant a garden of any kind. Got to know the guy a little - he was a big wig with an expanding telecom company - and he said the job pressures were terrific and he was having somewhat of a problem handling it along with the fact his wife was very unhappy - no garden.
He solved the problem with his wife by having about 25 semi-truck loads of Iowa black dirt hauled in and corraled it with railroad ties. She had a garden and he had a little more time for his job.
