OK...I admit it...I am one of those city boys who never even sat on a tractor until he needed one to take care of some land. But taking care of land is what tractors are all about no matter where the owner comes from. I have been enjoying this thread immensely and every time somebody mentions a new "Best Tractor" I click over on Tractor Shed of Picture Gallery to see if there is a picture of the tractor. If it is at all possible you guys should really try to upload pictures of these tractors you are talking about...for the educational benefit of all us newbie farmers. Thanks Kim Hartshorn

Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
