I can remember when any new product would have a good warranty or the retail dealer who sold was as good as the warrenty. Any more you don't have that. I was looking at a new Plasma TV for 1700 dollars and it had a 6 month warranty, but offered a 3 year extended warranty for 500 dollars. There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard.
