The slow leak is coming from the needle seat which is not completely closing the supply of gas from the tank. There is a shutoff at the bottom of the gas tank to turn the supply off. If the engine is running good, I would not wake up something that could bite you. The video probably dealt with a carb that was not worn or had the adjustments over tweaked in the past. If you feel compelled to work on the carb repost and I will tell you a fool proof method for adjusting the float. If you want to do something that will benefit the gas supply, add a fuel filter in the supply line coming from the tank to reduce trash getting into the carb.
