I have a 9N. I've had lot's of experience with older (mid 40's to mid 60's) tractors. The thing about a ford is that because of the way the 3-point hitch works with it's draft control, it will do a lot of work that a similar sized tractor without it won't (plowing). But since it doesn't rely on weight for traction, it does lousy at pulls. I use mine for mowing the lawn (I have a 6 foot finish mower) plowing snow (6 foot back blade...no weight in tires, but chains...I live in Rochester, yes we get a lot of snow) plowing and disking a garden, brush hogging, etc. I also have a three point hitch mounted bucket for cleaning the horse barns, and a little ramp for filling the spreader. A loader would be better, but I've heard you can measure the stress in your life by how many internal combustion engines you own, so for now...... If that's what you want to do, the fords compact size (easy to store), light weight (less impact on the lawn), cheap parts (you can still just about build one from ordering parts), easy to work on, makes them a pretty nice solution for smaller hobby farmers and homeowners. But as a "real" farm tractor, you could buy two "real" size tractors for what they get for a little ford. but of course then you need a bigger barn, a lawn mower (try driving an M or WD across your lawn), etc. The ideal situation is to have a N to do the work, and get a "big one" for fun..., unless of course you are a real farmer,...then you need... Good Luck Steve
