Here's my advice if you are going to list on eBay:
1. Make sure the auction(s) end on Sunday evening - most people have time to be looking on the weekends, especially Sunday evening and that way you can have at least a couple of people bidding in the last minutes.
2. Make sure the auction runs at least 7 days. Some weeks I only have time to search for an item once a week, listing a full week makes sure that no matter what day a person has off, it should show up in their search.
3. Use reasonable shipping charges - overcharging for shipping is dishonest, and I find by being reasonable (sometimes under true cost) will cause more people to be interested/bid on your item.
4. Lots of pictures.
5. Detailed description of what's included.
6. Accept PayPal - the fee really isn't that bad.
7. I don't accept personal checks any more - anyone who is too lazy or unable to get a cashier's check or money order can't be interested in my items.
