I buy stuff and fix it up and use it. After a few years.........or longer I might resell it for a loss, but is it really a loss? After all, I got my use out of it.
I say get it running and rent it out with the operator (you)and make some or all of your money back. After about a year or so, smile at the wife that wants to kill you and say "I told you it was a good deal!"
