Did you redo the wiring on the tail lights to put on the newer one bulb style lights? Yours should have had a seperate turn signal and brakelight bulbs from the factory. The tail lights from a newer (99+ or thereabouts) have one bulb that does everything and are solid red with no yellow signal. With a little wiring they are a bolt on, somebody may have put aftermarket taillights for a newer truck on yours and goofed up somewhere in the process.
