Along with what the others have said, It will also depend on how long ago he parked it and if the engine has set up.

You can throw figures at it all day long and basically it boils down to what are you willing to give and what is he willing to take. If it has been a long time since it was run, but the engine will turn over... You could probably start out around $500 and go from there. If the engine is froze up and needs a complete rebuild, you can probably start out around $500 and go from there =)

Main thing to remember about something setting for a year or more, especially that old... You can bet that you will soon have brake cylinders leaking if they aren't already.

One that is in running and driving condition will start out around $4500.
