I made a spreader from an old rear end from a car. Turn the rear up so the yoke points up. Made a spinner to bolt to the yoke. Made a hopper from some scrap steel and made some brackets.welded a hitch to the rear end. made asliding chute on the bottom of the hopper. as you pull the unit the wheels make the yoke spin and you open the chute and the sand or salt falls on the spinner. The faster you go the wider the path of material. I sand the private road that I plow it is 1 mile long put some sand on the back of plow truck and when the hopper is empty just fill it up again. Its buried in the back right now but it needs to come out soon for all the snow we are getting here in in eastern Ontario.I will post some pictures when it comes out.It was cheeaqp to build doesn't look like mich but it sure beats spreading by hand.
