I have had 2 pickup trucks soda blasted. It does an excellent job of removing paint, primer and most body filler. It does not hurt rubber hoses,or glass unless you hold it in one position for an extended period of time.It will not remove heavy rust,it will not clean greasy metal. The parts you need cleaned must be free of heavy grease accumulations. The severly rusted areas will have to be sanded down afterwards as it does not cut rust.If you have older, deteriorating fiberglass it will cut down to the glass fibres. But as you said it does not warp the metal as sandblasting would, plus if it gets into anything it is not abrasive,so excessive bagging and taping is not needed.
