This is what is says on their web site, it is not too clear, but I would take it as the expiration date is extended to the next business day to drive with and/or not pay the late fee. I amy be wrong, but that is the way I take it. I would call the county court in which the ticket was issued, ask them what to do, in Illinois, not matter who wrote the ticket, you pay the ticket to the court in the county the ticket was written in.
"If a license plate expires on a Saturday, Sunday, or legal holiday, the expiration date of the license plate is extended to include the next business day before assessing a $10 late fee."
