9N has 3 gas filters. All are necessary. Think one is in tank, one in line, and one in carb elbow. Nother thing points may have moved, think its an 8-32 screw that sometimes is too long and can't tighten or shorts out. Any of them new plugs get fouled. Just a start. Good luck
