Born in Detroit. 64 years old. Parents from S.C. Have been called displaced hillbilly. Dad came up to work for $5 day for Ford and never went back. First jo b credit union, decided didn't like confinement. Went to RETS radio-tv school in 1962. Navy recruiter 1966-68. Apprentice electrician GM 1969. Led to 32 years. Retired with bad back and sugar and more. Moved to semi-country(it ain't no more)Rockwood 25 years ago. Rode motorcycles last 35 years. 2 acres to play with. 2 farmalls now. Have had others. Love anything with gas engine. Bought lots of cars because nobody could make them run. Electrical contractor and landlord 15 years. Wish I could remem ber stuff. Things are changing too fast. Last 4 years I cut 10 acres every summer. Little plowing snow. Love this YT site. Appreciate you all and all the info. 11 year old grandson might be catching onto this tractor stuff. Today's Featured Article - Restoration Story: Fordson Major - by Anthony West. George bought his Fordson Major from a an implement sale about 18 years ago for £200.00 (UK). There is no known history regarding its origins or what service it had done, but the following work was undertaken alone to bring it up to show standard. From the engine number, it was found that this Major was produced late 1946. It was almost complete but had various parts that would definitely need replacing.
